The successful applicant would be expected to develop a teaching profile centered on Greek and/or Roman history. The area of historical specialization for this position is open, but the research and teaching expertise falls within the history of the broader Mediterranean world between 800 B.C.E. The Department would be especially interested in inviting applications from those who could contribute to the initiatives of the Ancient World Mapping Center ().
